Smedley Award

The Smedley Award is named in honor of Dr. Ralph C. Smedley, the founder of Toastmasters International, and is designed to recognize clubs that excel in membership growth. Achieving this award highlights a club’s commitment to expanding its reach and fostering a dynamic learning environment for members.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Smedley Award, a club must:

  • Add five new, dual, or reinstated members with a join date between August 1 and September 30.
  • Ensure that applications and payments for these members are received at World Headquarters or online no later than September 30
  • Note that transfer and charter members do not count toward Smedley Award credit.
